B2B embedded finance platform Toqio has named Yan Rocubert Paredes its new VP of Technology, reinforcing its commitment to innovation in fintech. Paredes, who brings over 20 years of experience in software engineering, will operate from the company’s home base in Spain.
Who Is Yan Rocubert Paredes?
Paredes has an impressive track record, having held leadership roles at Adevinta Spain, Raet, Unitrends, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba. Most recently, he served as Head of Engineering at French BNPL firm Alma, where he spearheaded technological advancements in the payments sector.
Toqio’s Strategic Growth in Key Markets
In addition to Paredes’ appointment, Toqio has strengthened its sales leadership, bringing Marcello Silvestri as Head of Sales in the UK. With a career spanning fintech giants like Mastercard, NatWest, and Western Union, Silvestri’s expertise in the EMEA region is expected to drive Toqio’s expansion.
The hires come as Toqio experiences rapid growth, mirroring the booming embedded finance sector. A recent Juniper Research report projects embedded finance revenues to hit $228.6 billion by 2028, a 148% increase from 2024. The B2B segment is set to play a crucial role in this surge.
A Fintech Force to Watch
Founded in 2019 by Eduardo Martinez (CEO) and Michael Galvin (CCO), Toqio has made waves in the fintech world, raising €20 million in Series A funding and securing partnerships with Visa and MeaWallet. The company also won Best Embedded Finance System at the Banking Tech Awards 2023.
With its recent leadership additions, Toqio is set for greater disruption in the fintech sector.
