Torbjørn Wist Appointed New Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Telenor Group

Telenor Group has announced the appointment of Torbjørn Wist as the new Executive Vice President (EVP) and Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective February 1, 2025. Wist, a seasoned finance executive with a robust background in telecom and logistics, will return to Telenor after a notable tenure elsewhere. 

An Accomplished Leader Returns 

Torbjørn Wist brings over 13 years of previous experience with Telenor, where he held significant roles, including Senior Vice President and Group Treasurer. His return to Telenor is highly anticipated, as he is recognized for his deep industry knowledge and proven financial acumen.

A Proven Track Record 

Wist currently serves as EVP and CFO at Wallenius Wilhelmsen, a global shipping and logistics company listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange. His role there has involved overseeing business performance, including mergers and acquisitions (M&A), accounting, financial control, treasury, investor relations, and tax. Notably, he also acted as CEO for Wallenius Wilhelmsen for 15 months until May 2022. 

Before joining Wallenius Wilhelmsen, Wist was CFO at Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS). His tenure at Telenor includes significant roles in global treasury management and M&A, highlighting his expertise in managing financial operations and strategic investments.
