Volta Raises €6 Million for B2B Transactions- YourTechCFO.

Volta, a rising startup with dual headquarters in Milan and Paris, has successfully raised €6 million ($6.3 million) in its pre-seed round, making it the largest in Italy. The company is assured of disrupting the B2B space by launching a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform personalized for wholesale and distribution businesses.

A Shopify-Like Solution for B2B Sales

Shopify revolutionized B2C e-commerce, and Volta aims to transform the B2B era. Traditionally, many European mid-sized wholesale businesses still rely on paper catalogs and outdated order processes. Volta’s platform offers a digital alternative, helping companies create and manage customized catalogs, sync pricing, and track orders, all without replacing their existing ERP systems.

Simplifying Catalog Management

Volta’s solution focuses on simplifying catalog management. Companies can upload their catalogs from Excel files or ERP systems, verify data accuracy, and create personalized catalogs directly from Volta’s interface. This process helps businesses keep their pricing and inventory data up to date while providing a seamless experience for internal users and customers.

Filling the Gap in B2B Innovation

Paul Guillemin, Volta’s co-founder and co-CEO, pointed out that the B2B sector has lagged nearly 15 years behind B2C in terms of digital transformation. “B2C has rapidly adopted integrated e-commerce solutions, while B2B is still bogged down by manual processes,” he stated. Volta is here to close that gap, making B2B operations as efficient as modern B2C platforms.

Strong Leadership Behind Volta’s Success

The impressive €6 million pre-seed round can be attributed to the expertise of Volta’s co-founders. Guillemin, who previously founded Fretlink, and Mario Parteli, who launched Abiby, bring years of experience. Their combined expertise has attracted investors, including European VC firm Emblem and angel investors from top firms such as Sequoia and a16z.

Looking ahead, Volta plans to expand its platform, with potential features such as logistics integrations and financing options. The goal is to become an all-in-one solution for wholesale and distribution companies, streamlining every part of the sales process, from catalog management to order fulfillment.

This pre-seed funding is just the beginning for Volta, and the startup’s innovative approach promises to reshape how B2B transactions are conducted in Europe. Keep an eye on this innovative platform as it evolves to meet the needs of the modern wholesale industry.
