3M has announced the appointment of Anurag Maheshwari as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective September 1, 2024. Maheshwari, currently serving as Executive Vice President and CFO for Otis Worldwide Corporation, brings a wealth of experience and expertise in financial and business operations to 3M.
Maheshwari has had an illustrious career, most recently at Otis, a global leader in elevators and escalators. His tenure at Otis included roles such as Vice President, Finance, Information Technology, and Chief Transformation Officer in the Asia Pacific region. Before Otis, he played significant roles at Harris Corporation and L3Harris, leading investor relations and strategic investment planning. His background also includes executive-level positions in strategy, private equity, and finance at United Technologies and Affinity Equity Partners. Maheshwari holds a master’s degree in finance from the Asian Institute of Management and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Bombay University.
Leadership and Vision

Roles and Responsibilities
As 3M’s CFO, Maheshwari will lead the company’s global finance organization, overseeing business finance, accounting, treasury, financial planning and analysis, tax, investor relations, transformation, country governance, and international service centers.
In the interim, Teri Reinseth, currently the Senior Vice President, Corporate Controller, and Chief Accounting Officer, will serve as Interim Chief Financial Officer effective August 1, 2024. Reinseth has been with 3M since April 1, 2019, and her extensive experience will ensure a smooth transition.
